Our Board

We are constantly growing the expertise of our Board which currently consists of Dale Simons (Chairman), Dr Daniel Solomons (Executive Director), Raymond Brinkhuis (Chief Financial Officer), Delecia Davids, Nathan Motjuwadi, Lee Saul (Operations Manager) and Adele Pool.

Dale Simons
Chief Executive Officer of MiDO Group

Dale Simons is the Managing Director of MiDO Technologies and is highly skilled in information and communication technology software solutions, support, training and systems implementation. He has worked for Pragma Africa, an international leader in the provision of asset management services, and Spier Holdings, a well-known wine and leisure business. During his time at Pragma and Spier, he worked as an ICT Consultant, a Support Manager, Systems Administrator, IT Manager, Group IT Manager and an ICT Director.

He holds a NDip in Mechanical Engineering from the Cape Peninsula University of Technology and completed a project management course at AECI Engineering. Dale has also completed the 12-month Executive Development Programme of the University of Stellenbosch Business School. In 2003, he became a Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate. His knowledge and experience in ICT solutions for educational and public benefit organisations combined with his desire to bring about change and transformation in society are the driving forces behind his commitment to prepare the youth for the 4th Industrial Revolution.

Daniel Solomons
Executive Director & Chaplain

Daniel is passionate about transforming the lives of South Africans and positively affecting the youth. Daniel is a Stellenbosch University graduate with a BA in Industrial Psychology, a Postgraduate Diploma in HIV/Aids Management, an MPhil in HIV/Aids Management and a MTh in Clinical Pastoral Care. He has spent most of his career working with students and learners, first as Faculty Secretary for the Law, Theology and Economic and Management Sciences faculties and later as Director of Dynamic Skills Consultants.

Through these positions he assisted prospective students with university admission queries and guidance on school subject choices to gain entry to university, and offered skills development programmes for the youth and high school learners in need of study skills and in learning motivational techniques. He has also assisted the Western Cape Education Department with the High School Improvement Programme aimed at Grade 12s. Daniel is also the Director of The Breathe Institute, an NGO offering trauma and relationship counselling services to lower income individuals and the general public, and has facilitated a range of workshops on leadership, conflict resolution, strategic planning and diversity management.

Raymond Brinkhuis
Chief Financial Officer

Raymond is the Founder and Director of Lierolac (Pty) Ltd, a consulting company established in 2017. He applies his skills and experience in Operations, Audit and Finance (which was accumulated in his banking career of over 22 years) to assist small business owners to establish and operate sustainable business ventures.

Fun Fact: Raymond enjoys spending time on creative activities like drawing, painting, and making cement garden planting pots.

Delecia Davids

Delecia Davids is an educator and researcher dedicated to empowering young individuals through education. A lecturer and early-career researcher at Stellenbosch University, she specializes in teacher education, curriculum innovation, and educational technology. Her pioneering work, including the use of digital escape rooms for assessments, has gained national media attention. With a strong background in student leadership and e-learning, she also contributes to social impact initiatives, such as the MiDO Foundation. A Mandela Rhodes Scholar, Delecia’s journey reflects resilience and a passion for innovative learning, inspiring students and educators alike.

Nathan Motjuwadi

Nathan is a seasoned HR professional with over 32 years of experience. Starting as a teacher, he transitioned into HR leadership roles, including Executive HR at Capitec Bank and HR Director at Danone Southern Africa. Currently, he is a Director and Senior Partner at Stanton Chase Johannesburg. Holding a Bachelor of Social Science and an MBA, he specializes in talent and performance management. He also contributes to academia as a lecturer and serves as Chairman of Bergzicht Training and Development, showcasing his dedication to skills development and leadership in South Africa’s HR sector.

Lee Sauls
Business Development

Lee is an experienced business developer at the MiDO Foundation, a non-profit organization focused on empowering youth with digital skills. She plays a key role in developing and implementing operational policies, strategic planning, and ensuring cost-effective project management. With expertise in budgeting and forecasting, Lee contributes to the foundation’s mission of transforming young lives through technology and innovation.

Adele Pool

Adele is a retired office manager who previously worked with the SciMathUS programme at Stellenbosch University, supporting students from disadvantaged backgrounds in improving their Mathematics and Physical Sciences results for university admission. Now retired, she remains actively involved in outreach programmes within marginalized communities, continuing her dedication to education and social development.

Michelle Swartland
Operations Manager

Michelle joined the MiDO Foundation team in 2020 as Project Administrator responsible for the Hub Coordinators and Yes Interns. In 2021, she was promoted from Senior Project Administrator to New Project Officer and is now the Operations Manager at MiDO Foundation.

Fun Fact: Michelle is a Professional Photographer who spends her spare time capturing the special moments in her clients’ lives. She is also a great guitar player and talented singer.

Our Team

The team at MiDO Foundation consist of a diverse group of individuals with an extensive set of skills from  information and communications technology to infrastructure roll-out, leadership development and expertise in the effective application of Google for Education in the education sector.

We have 9 Hub Coordinators on-site providing continuous assistance.

Nicole Sacco
Hub Program Coordinator

Nicole is the Hub Program Coordinator, overseeing all hubs and supporting coordinators to ensure effective program delivery. With over six years of experience working with youth in the non-profit and community development sectors, she has used the arts for social transformation. Nicole transitioned from the arts to the digital space, looking for new opportunities to equip young people for the future. She is also an enthusiastic traveller and a devoted fan of the sitcom Friends. A quote she lives by is: 'Start now. Start where you are.

Keahnon Joseph
IT Technician

Keahnon is an IT Technician at MiDO Foundation, where he plays a crucial role in ensuring that the organization’s technology infrastructure runs smoothly. With a strong foundation in IT support, Keahnon is skilled in troubleshooting, system maintenance, and providing technical assistance across various platforms. His ability to solve complex technical issues and his keen attention to detail make him an essential member of the team. Keahnon is passionate about technology and always eager to expand his knowledge and skills to stay up-to-date with the latest developments in the field. His calm, methodical approach to problem-solving and his commitment to supporting others make him a reliable and valued professional at MiDO Foundation.

Nicole Wyngaardt
Junior Administrator

Nicole serves as an administrative team member at the MiDO Foundation. She supports the organisation through diligent, organised, and dependable administrative work, contributing to the smooth day-to-day operations of the Foundation.

Nicole is a committed individual who approaches her work with professionalism and integrity. She feels privileged to contribute to the meaningful work the Foundation does for communities, schools, and beyond.

Tyreec Januarie
Marketing Intern

Tyreec is a Marketing Intern at the MiDO Foundation, where he plays an active role in supporting creative and marketing initiatives. With a strong passion for creativity, storytelling, and digital platforms, he brings fresh ideas that strengthen brand presence and drive audience engagement.

Tyreec is eager to learn, experiment, and adapt in fast-paced environments while building practical skills in content creation, digital campaigns, and brand communication. His enthusiasm, creative mindset, and willingness to grow make him a valuable addition to the team.
