GIVE OUR YOUTH A CHANCE

INVEST IN OUR LEARNERS’ DIGITAL FUTURE

More than 70% of South African youth will be unemployment by 2040 due to a lack of digital skills.

South Africa has the highest data costs on the African continent.

60% of learners have access to the internet at school.

7% of households with individuals between 5 and 24 had internet access at home.

The majority of South Africa’s learners are underprivileged and attend under-resourced schools where they often do not have access to digital skills training, electronic devices and WIFI, good quality internet connection and no opportunities to acquire digital skills. In 2017, we decided to change that and #BACKTHEFUTURE of South Africa’s youth.

Today we build school-based Digital Hubs with access to good quality internet connection and with electronic devices for learners’ use; train teachers in digital skills; offer unemployed youth who live near our Digital Hubs with training via our 12-month Digital Citizenship Programme and the possibility of being employed at one of Digital Hubs as a Digital Coordinator to offer on-site digital technology support to learners and teachers. We do all of this by collaborating with big business and the funding we receive from corporate donors and individuals like you.

We dream of a South Africa where all learners, no matter their financial background, will have access to a good quality education ad the digital skills and digital citizenship know-how they will need to further their studies, find a job, and participate in the world economy. HOW ABOUT YOU?

DON’T LET THIS GENERATION BECOME ANOTHER STATISTIC
#BACKTHEFUTURE OF SOUTH AFRICA’S YOUTH

Our goal is to built a hub at every under- resourced school in the Western Cape and expand to other provinces in South Africa. But Digital Hubs are not cheap and that’s why we need your support. We’ve built 9 with the help of Capitec, Entersekt ad many others thus far.

“This space will allow learners to explore and collaborate through technology and serve as an enabler that will support innovation and learning. The pace at which digital innovation and disruption is happening will continue to increase, and as teachers and parents, we need to embrace technology for its potential to empower learners.”
